Israel conducted aerial bombardment on Lebanon and Gaza in retaliation for a 365-day operation, commenced by the October 7, 2021 attacks. Thus, these episodes occurred concurrently with further tensions between Israel and the Shia groups in the region as well as between Israel and Iran, Iran being the main danger. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that ‘all options are available for consideration’ when it comes to how to handle the possibility of Iranian attacks to possibly boost the likelihood of another attack.
Hezbollah the next day took out rockets to Israel from Lebanon which got intercepted by Israel and it landed on Haifa the largest city of Israel. A lot of the buildings got hit and an article from Israeli media stated that ten people were injured in both Haifa and Tiberias. Hezbollah admitted responsibility, claiming that missiles named ‘Fadi 1‘ were fired at a military infrastructure located to the east of Haifa. This was also the first rocket attack from Lebanon to the Israeli territory in the last few months.
Due to the threat from Lebanese militants, a number of airstrikes were carried out by the Israeli Air Force to the southern part of the city, however, the most devastating airstrikes carried out on this particular day were by the Israeli Air Force. He had seen fireballs rise high in the sky and had felt the echoes of the fire bombs that night. On July 29th Israel military claims that the operation against Lebanon resulted in damage to intelligence facility of the Lebanese party and warehouses. This makes the situation even worse as more armed groups engage in the conflicts, Hezbollah positions being targets of the aforementioned groups in Southern Lebnan, and in the Beqaa Valley, as well.
Similar situation emerged in the following days of October, 2019 when the Gaza Strip targeted Israel with the launching of rockets for 7 days resulting in 1200 fatalities and over 250 hostages among the Israelis. The said attacks led to one of the heaviest of Israeli military attacks on the Gaza Strip resulting into over 4000 death of Palestinians, further affecting their medical conditions, as verified by Palestine. This has led to very disastrous consequences in the coastal enclave of Gaza that has a high density of human population.
There was protests for pro-Palestinian character in cities such as Jakarta, Istanbul, and Rabat in several cities of the world and these protests were held on the anniversary before. Also, several protests had happened in bigger cities of Europe including Washington D.C and New York the previous day. This conflict is being addressed globally and has a strong interest that could influence future conflicts and their implications in various areas.
In this regard, it has to be pointed out that besides US and its allies, the role of Iran remains considerable throughout this ongoing conflict. The group has been associated with both Iran and Palestine through Hezbollah and Hamas and has supported them in the name of “Axis of Resistance” In the last week of last month Iran had provided a missile to the country where it is located which is capable of striking Israel as a move by the country to seek revenge for its military intervention on the Middle East. US administration assured that it does not support any of these Israeli strikes, and this can be seen in a recent statement made by Joe Biden where he stated that Israeli attacks on Iranian oil facilities have also been considered by the U.S. side.
Racial and ethnic issues have also emerged and conflicts have continued; the Israeli side has rejected the proposed American agreement on a ceasefire, while fighting continued in the Middle East especially in the land of Lebanon. On Sunday, Israeli forces directed new paths of evacuation of parts of Beirut where civilians needed to go in a bid to intensify bombing. And in the same way, Israel also declared its fourth and fifth military zones for the same reason to narrow down its military restricted zones in its northern territory further to further escalate fears of an even wider region conflict.
What happens is that even worse has happened in Lebanon. An airstrike that was conducted in Kayfoun killed 6 people and injured 13 others, while in Qmatiye six people lost their lives as well as 3 children. Some of the impacts from these strikes include the killing of 26 people and injuring 93 individuals in a school for the displaced and another institution in the vicinity.
Unfortunately, Hezbollah’s fighting on our side has been growing and as a result, all parties involved are preparing themselves for further escalation that could potentially engage other regions of the world. Conversely, Israel has also mentioned that its goals are to destroy targets including civilians while at the same time the Lebanese and Palestinian Authorities are asserting that civilians are being killed. The issue still persists with no real resolution at the moment as expecte
